Drop Dead Fest is a post-punk multiple day music festival, annually held in New York City and Europe. It books as many as sixty-five bands per event, and has been known to attract attendees from over thirty countries. Musical styles typically featured at Drop Dead Fest include punk, post-punk, deathrock, synthpunk, psychobilly, experimental, gothic rock, horror punk, dark cabaret and more.
The festival is also notable for its elaborate stage designs, bazaar of vendors of scene paraphernalia, movie screenings, and a dance floor featuring the best underground DJs from around the world.
The exhibition that this book was produced for focused on the different elements and stages of Whitman's life. The graphic style used plays off the idea of "self-revision" used in the exhibition's name.
Imagery and content used was acquired from the Library of Congress.
Choke is a darkly comedic novel about the life of a sex addict named Victor Mancini. I attempted to keep the style as clean as Palahniuk's other novels while adding a humorous visual metaphor. The author's biography and plot synopsis were moved to the inside flaps so they could be portrayed in a more graphic style.
Designed by Adrian Frutiger, Serifa has often been regarded as "Univers with serifs," even by the designer himself. It was produced for the Bauer Foundery in 1967 and is one of today's more recognizable slab serif faces.
The Swiss cross on the back of the poster contains the signature slab serifs of the typeface while the front keeps all the information in the same shape.
Jim White is a Southern American singer-songwriter and guitarist. His music can be loosely described as alternative country, but veers off in different, sometimes experimental directions with occasional nods to Tom Waits.
By the way, I hate Tom Waits, but Jim White's music isn't too shabby.
This packaging of Jim's album remains faithful to the eclectic style of his music and adds humor via hand-drawn and hand-lettered elements.
The Bermuda Tourism logo paid homage to the country's British beginnings.
Flamingos find their caffeinated vodka of choice with Pink.
The Bathroom Bugle was a "stall reader" posted in university restrooms.
Goodwear Clothing was all about fair labor organic clothing. Revolutionary!
The identity for 21c has close ties to the unique architecture of the building.
